Strategic Committees

The Strategic Committees are composed of a broad range of stakeholders in the renewable energy industry, thereby providing a highly realistic and practical perspective on which areas of focus are crucial for the industry's further development.

DTU Risø Campus

The Strategic Committees (SC) serve as the operating branch of Danish Alliance For Renewables, tasked with examining and developing strategic proposals for the alliance. SC participants are selected based on their professional expertise and visionary thinking, representing a diverse spectrum of the industry. Working within the mandate and strategic guidance provided by the ExCo, the SC engages in operational activities and contributes to the realization of the agreed-upon work program for the year.

The SCs convene multiple times annually, fostering a continuous and highly hands-on approach to their work. This frequent interaction enables proactive engagement and ensures the timely progression of strategic initiatives.

Additionally, in recent years, several new SCs have been established within the alliance, reflecting the dynamic evolution of renewable energy and the increasing demand for active research and development across a broader range of disciplines.

Currently, DAFRE is working on research, development, and demonstration recommendations within below listed areas.

System Integration

The System Integration SC focuses on identifying challenges within the renewable energy transition, addressing both technical and economic aspects. This includes energy trading and regulatory frameworks. Innovative R&D strategies are essential to tackle these challenges and ensure a sustainable and profitable energy future.

Test and Validation

The Test and Validation SC focusses on advancing wind energy research and technology development by ensuring the quality and reliability of wind energy systems.

Balance of Plant

The Balance of Plant (BoP) SC focuses on the development and operation of wind power projects. It aims to create awareness among stakeholders about the significance of BoP in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of wind farms. This involves highlighting the critical role that BoP plays in the overall success of wind energy projects.

Sustainability

The Sustainability SC focuses on identifying the necessity for innovation in biodiversity conservation and evaluating the environmental impacts of wind turbines. It highlights the importance of innovative approaches to biodiversity conservation, such as reducing habitat disruption and enhancing ecosystem resilience near wind farms.

Partnerships in the Supply Chain

The Partnerships in the Supply Chain SC focuses on enhancing partnerships within the wind industry. Key values include shifting towards partnership-oriented mindsets and encouraging horizontal cooperation among suppliers. The SC evaluates vertical and horizontal partnerships to improve practices and enhance the competitiveness of Danish-based suppliers, ensuring that theoretical concepts translate into tangible results.

Wind Turbine

The Wind Turbine SC concentrates on all facets of turbine technology, spanning from design methodologies and sustainability in the supply chain to operational performance optimization and robust testing and validation protocols. This holistic approach aims to drive advancements in wind turbine technology, ensuring efficiency, sustainability, and reliability across the industry to support the growth and success of wind energy generation.

Green Grid

The Green Grid SC aims to strategically guide the development of grid infrastructure and green energy production technologies like wind turbines and solar panels. It envisions what the future energy system could look like and sets the direction for technology advancements to meet future demands. This includes ensuring high energy security through coordinated development between the grid and energy production.

Future Energy Systems

The Future Energy System SC plans beyond 2030 targets, aiming to make informed decisions for upcoming deadlines. It assesses solutions for integration into the energy system, guiding early policy decisions to address the CO2 crisis and ensure energy supply certainty.
