The primary objective of the Danish Alliance for Renewables is to facilitate a platform that handles communication, coordination, and collaboration within the renewable energy community. The overarching goal is to consistently define and agree upon specific research and innovation priorities. These priorities are communicated to decision-making bodies in Denmark and internationally, aligning with the ambition to achieve the Renewable Energy Sources targets for 2030.

In 2021, Megavind underwent a structural transformation to adapt to the evolving landscape of renewable energy. The new organizational framework includes strategic committees, each dedicated to essential topics in renewable energy RD&D. This strategic approach ensures a targeted and focused effort towards innovation.

The activities carried out by DAFRE aim to enable the organization to provide systematic and coordinated advisory activities and recommendations to decision-makers. Additionally, these activities facilitate transparency and information sharing, fostering collaboration among stakeholders within the renewable energy community and beyond.

The objectives outlined below represent the core mission of Danish Alliance For Renewables.

LCOE

Reduce 'Levelized Cost of Energy' because the price for manufacturing of Balance of Plant & WTG installation, operation and maintenance, and decommissioning is the single most important factor for the growing volume of RE in the European energy system. Reducing cost include attention to both standardization/industrialization and life-time optimization as well as low cost by high-quality, tailor-made solutions and low failure.

Competitiveness

Ensure first class competences because the continuous development in R&D, test, design, and potentially manufacturing will ensure Denmark’s leading position as exporter of RE competences and secure growth in green jobs.

Engagement

Increase awareness and social acceptance because social acceptance is key to smooth implementation of RE projects and acceptance of political, economic, and social changes in the power supply to private households and the industrial consumption.

Advocacy

Dedication to delivering impartial and professional recommendations on the political aspects of renewable energy and innovation. Our purpose is to encourage political measures that support the renewable energy sector, boost innovation, and drive sustainable development.
